I had someone ask me a question about this picture that I posted. It was a good question and I’m sure other people had the thought, especially if you’ve never been a part of an EEG.

The question was if that red mark on her forehead is a boo-boo.

The answer is no. The EEG techs use a red grease pencil to mark where the electrodes go. That one just happened to be very bright, probably due to the fact it’s the first one that gets made. It was also the hardest to get off. After I took the equipment off of her and gave her a bath, it was still there for another day or so, though it was very faint.

So if anyone else was wondering, there you go.

Well, it’s all done. We returned all of the equipment. Now we get to wait 2-3 weeks to find out the results. Yippy! I hate the waiting. Here are some more pictures. You can find more at our photo gallery.

Emma made it through the night and didn’t lose anything off of her head.

She woke up around 7:15am.  She ate at 7:45am.  She’s bouncing away in her bouncy chair at the moment with a big smile on her face.

In a little bit, I’ll take everything off her head and give her a bath.

Emma’s been asleep for about an hour now. Everything is still in place. Jon came home early and we fixed her head wrapping one last time. I’m hoping it all stays in place. I’ll definitely be checking before we go to bed.

Also, I didn’t realize I chose the wrong setting with the pictures. I changed the settings and they should load better.

I’ll try and do another update in the morning before we run off to return the equipment.

Our 2nd attempt at a nap went well.  She only pulled her cap off a little bit, but that’s easy enough to fix.

She had a small snack while we ate dinner but got a little fussy.  She’s now happily bouncing like crazy in the bouncy chair.  I think she’s catching some air.

I’m a little interested to see how the night goes and if any of the stuff is still attached when I get up in the morning.

Well, she finally fell asleep.

I laid her down, rolled her over, and laid a heavy blanket on her.  Down for the count and the cap is still on.

Some well deserved rest for her.  This is hard work.

Hmm…Let’s see. Emma is a squirmy baby, but not really mobile yet. She’s just starting to grab at blankets and pull.

I put her down for a nap. She’s still fussing 5 minutes later so I go and check on her. She’s ripped her cap off as well as all of the gauze. She’s got the gauze in her mouth. She’s pulled the lead off of one of the heart monitors.

5 minutes later I finally have her done back up.

We’re trying the nap again, but she’s not having any of it.

Guess we’ll go back outside and hope the fresh air knocks her out.

Emma has successfully managed a walk ride in the stroller, a nap, lunch, and nursing with her head all bundled up. So far, we’re doing OK.

I have no idea what the machine is recording since it has no monitor for me to look at. But I haven’t pushed the button at all.

Well, so far so good.

We went for a walk around the block.  Eve though Emma has this small box on top of her head, she sat up very nicely the entire time.  No slumping in the stroller at all.

She’s now sleeping in her bed.  Time to go check and make sure she hasn’t gotten tangled up in the cords.
